A Swinging Retirement Celebration for Finance Exec
The Music Request List was a Photo
Because the music was a surprise to the guest of honor at his retirement party. Our client came to us and said, “This print hangs in his office, so play music from any of these Jazz players.”
The legendary photo (below) is the famous “A Great Day in Harlem” 1958 by Art Kane taken on 126th St. and was published in Esquire Magazine. For any student of jazz this “reunion style” photo commemorated the bringing together of 57 of the greatest jazz performers of their day.
The photo is an icon of jazz photography. Our musicians made sure to perform repertoire from several artists in the photo including Art Blakey, Thelonius Monk, Hank Jones, Dizzy Gillespie and Count Basie among others.
A huge thank you again for a spectacular evening !! John is still talking about the guys !!!
All the best and thanks again.
