Q: You plan Bat & Bar Mitzvah parties for up to 150 kids or more. What do you look for when selecting venues for these events?
A: When selecting a venue for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah for up to 150 kids, I look for a space that will help me create the ultimate dance party. It has to be a place with enough room to accommodate large groups of kids and other guests on the dance floor simultaneously because “a crowded dance floor makes for a great party!” I also look to make sure there is ample space to do fabulous kids’ games and activities to ensure that all kids are kept entertained at all times.

Q: What should venue managers or catering teams consider before booking a Bar or Bat Mitzvah?
A: A venue that would like to be in the Bar/Bat Mitzvah market should not be set in their ways and be open to the idea that all furniture has to be movable as that will allow the client to bring in staging, lighting, and games. If providing food, they should also have a kid-friendly menu with stadium and on-the-go style containers because that’s how kids truly enjoy eating! The pricing should fall in line with this more casual style of food and serving as well.
Q: What has made you one of the most sought-after planners of Bat & Bar Mitzvahs in this very competitive New York market?
A: I believe that I am most sought after because of the fact that I’ve been planning Bar/Bat Mitzvahs for 29 years. My word, integrity, unique vision and love for the project put me in a league all my own. My clients feel they can always count on me to be honest and come through a 100 percent. Remember, this is all I do every day – making this very special day in a family’s life genuinely fun and memorable.
